Abstract. The results of studying biological and molecular genetic properties of a new influenza virus H1N1 А/ swine /Костанай/06/12 strain differing from the reference variants of this subtype are presented. Studies on biological and antigenic properties of a new influenza virus А/swine / Kostanay/06/12 (H1N1) strain indicate the possibility of using it as a diagnosticum for the purpose of identifying specific antibodies in the sera of swine infected with a modern variant of influenza A virus subtype H1 as well as for carrying out fundamental molecular biological studies.
